Rimowa warranty

Hi Guys,

just brought in my Rimowa trolley for warranty. Its 3,5 years old, cracked just above one of the wheels (see picture). Inmediately they started about giving me a damage report so I could claim with the Airlines. Got the impression that they first try to point towards the airlines (easy money) instead of accepting a warranty claim. I never checked-in my trolley, always kept it with me, never dropped it. Probably just a weak spot due to the connection with the wheel. After a short discussion they told me they would contact rimowa in germany. Got another salsa cabin trolley to use in the mean time ( good service!)

Just received an email that Rimowa Germany will repair my damaged shell instead of replace it. I am quite sceptical about reparing the poly carbonate shell. I think that even after a repair the strength of the polycarbonate shell will be compromised and the crack will eventually tear further. Does anyone of you have experience with these kinds of repairs?

regards,

How do you repair PC? I think they're just going to swap the half that was cracked.
