Travel Clothes Steamer

Howdy FTers!

Iíve searched and found a few threads which were all quite old...so I figured a new thread was in order.

My husband and I recently bought a clothes steamer and have found it to be life changing. Now we want a travel version.

I know the put it in the bathroom while showering trick (sometimes even in the shower if itís large enough), but it just isnít the same. Wrinkle released products smell - some like it...we donít.

So now weíre on the hunt for a good portable steamer. Small size, effectiveness and durability (in that order) would be the biggest priorities.

What do you use?

I use a small spray bottle of water and then smooth out the wrinkles. I occasionally clip a pant hanger to the cuff or hem to weigh it down while drying. If it is fairly wrinkled then I'll use the hotel iron or send it to be steamed/pressed on a cruise.

There seem to be DIY wrinkle releasers involving distilled water and fabric softener (unscented/free & clear also available nowadays) or vinegar + conditioner. The DIY versions might spot on certain fabrics so standard disclaimers to spot test in hidden areas apply.

I've used this for years. Love it. A permanent fixture in my carryon. Have both the 120V and 230V versions.

I use this steamer from Amazon. It has worked wonderfully. Very inexpensive and best of all, dual voltage. It's been on a dozen or so trips since April, a few to UK and Europe. Do not overfill the reservoir or you will have a mess.
