For weekend trips, I carry a Tom Bihn Brain Bag (a backpack, but I pack it like a duffel since I don't have a laptop with me) for the overhead bin and a Red Oxx XS Aviator for under the seat. They make the Aviator in larger sizes as well.

I have a swissgear rolling tote that I love. Very compact, and can easily fit enough clothes for a long 3-day weekend.

Nizar-I personally use a North Face Base Camp Duffel. We have a few sizes of these, but usually for 2-3 day trips I'll grab the Small

Do you still recommend this bag?

Not the person you asked, but since the thread is old and I've been a basecamp owner for 14 years. I'll chime in.

I have mine in the large and bright yellow. Most dirt and scuffs just wipe off. Also I've put it though some have and odd shaped loads and it continues to come out unscathed.

The straps are strong and comfy, though they are not cushioned nor is there a suspension. The compression straps do stabilize loads and prevent shifting very well, seven after toss and dragging it about, stuff should still be in its place.

Overall, it's a solid bag and when on sale, it's good value for money imho.

Another Base Camp owner here. I've been using the same poison green size S bag for 12 years now for dozens of trips and for carrying sports gear too and it's still in very good shape. Works well as a cabin bag even though the dimensions don't exactly match the airline rules - however at the same time as it's never 100% filled with solid stuff so it has always been easy enough to cram it into even the smaller planes' lockers or under the seat. I also have the XL one in use for longer trips and I've been happy with that one too.

The downside is that the material doesn't breathe at all and after having it in your back for a while, you're more or less guaranteed to have a sweaty back.

Red Oxx Extra Small Kit bags and Goruck Duffles are the best.

Unfortunately, though, Goruck no longer makes the duffle.

Therefore, Red Oxx is the way to go!!!!
