Wireless Earbuds for Plane

Short and sweet.

When traveling and listening/watching in flight entertainment, when I rise from the seat, I sometimes forget the earbuds are plugged.

How would you use wireless earbuds during in flight entertainment? And what adapters would I need?

thanks.

You'd need a bluetooth transmitter, which sends a bluetooth signal that your wireless earbuds can receive. I have too few posts to include a link, but searching Amazon for "bluetooth transmitter" should get you plenty of options.

There are several airlines that don't like these - Air Canada being one.

AC doesn't like bluetooth headsets if the plane isn't equipped for wifi. If the plane has wifi, you're good to go.

Personally, I use Powerbeats3 Wireless earphones just for the flights. It isn't noise canceling but it isolates pretty well. I also have Bose QCs of different types over the years but they all live at home in a drawer. I find on extended trips that it hurts my ears, pressure from the cups, messes with hair, heat, etc.

I love my Apple AirPods for everything else though. Just not loud enough and isolating enough for flights.

Issues with solutions like these are latency (sound is slightly delayed so it makes it look like a bad dub), ensuring that both your BT transmitter and headphones/earbuds are charged, and forgetting the transmitter on the plane. Sound quality might also be an issue, particularly with the old plugs which don't connect well and are very staticky or have other sound issues. I have one and have just defaulted to going back to wired when using built-in IFE.

You might wanna check this earbud: sony wf1000x
I use it for long haul flight even sometimes without the music or video, just to be in silent.
The downside for me is just the battery last only around 3 hrs so you might wanna take it into consideration
It used to be a little bit of lag in transmission but after the update it seems much better
The retail price is $200 but I got it from Amazon, just around $150. So yiu might look around to get a good deal
