Luggage Cart Platform with 4 Wheels
(This is my first post here, so please redirect if more appropriate in another sub-forum.)
I have this older version: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...2fc04ed76b.jpg of this cooler: https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/8882...r-picnic&csp=a And bring it with me every time I fly, as I have been eating paleo for about 5 years. Since it contains food, I never get hassled for its size in addition to my carry-on. I typically sling it over my shoulders, while wearing my 40L carry-on backpack and it gets quite heavy (particularly as I use large ice packs to keep the contents cool all day for extended travel). I am seeking a small luggage cart with wheels (that swivel and move in any direction) which operates similarly to a furniture dolly. I don't want a handle (just a platform with wheels), as I plan to just pull it by the strap of the cooler. Ideally, I would like to be able to collapse it and place it in front of the cooler in the overhead bin on the plane. I have searched for this for a while, but with no success. Any suggestions? Best Regards, sanuliarem |
Welcome to Flyertalk!
I haven't seen anything pre-made but wouldn't this be quite similar to mounting casters like http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20218526/ http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/96671300/ https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...aster&_sacat=0 to a board or even metal grid? Perhaps a few slats which fold cleverly with a piano hinge? Luggage carts can count as an item. Your lunch bag probably passes as a personal item in addition to carry-on or gets allowed as an extra item like coat, umbrella, CPAP. |
Thank you for your reply. Ideally, I would like something that is already manufactured and is collapsible.
Do "spinner" style luggage carts even exist? I have done a lot of searching and cannot seem to find any. |
Hi Folks,
I am writing to circle back on this. Any ideas? I am seeking something like this: https://m.alibaba.com/product/607057...k-Spinner.html but more compact, which will replicate the ease of use that a standard spinner suitcase provides. I want to use it to roll a GORUCK GR3 along with this cooler: Canadian Ice Flight Crew Cooler - Coolers & Duffles - Products If it's a really full flight and I get pushback from the gate agents, I plan to wear the GR3 on, carry the cooler, and gate-check the luggage cart. Most of the time I don't get noticed with a backpack vs. when I roll my carry-on spinner. |
