Poppits toothpaste

Just saw this:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-in-toothpaste

Toothpaste in small (one per brush) softgel pods.

I think that could be a nice thing for travel. Just pop 3-a-day in the 3-1-1 and no waste or "over carry" ;)

Just the TSA would have to learn something new? :p

OTOH, the kickstart failed, I hope they'll market it anyway given the went through the hoops of patent and the other 4-6y of effort.

I'd probably give these a try as an impulse buy if I saw them on a store shelf, but I don't think I'd pay much premium for them. I've never really thought "this travel-size toothpaste is just taking up way too much space" and it's one more thing to have to think to re-pack in my travel toiletry bag every trip.

These already exist, but not in gel form:

Or, make your own:

Fascinating! I was aware of tooth powder and recently saw the tooth tablets, but interesting idea with the DIY dots!

Cheers, Rusearch. I'll try the DIY - plenty of half-used travel sized ones to play from :-)

I don't think they do themselves any favors by stressing that their toothpaste contains no fluoride. I believe the vast majority of the traveling public uses/wants/needs fluoride toothpaste, and appealing to the minority who believe fluoride is a Commie plot to taint our bodily fluids is a poor business plan.

The prices are ridiculous. Who the heck is really that bothered by a tube of gel toothpaste enough where they need single size portions? ....

Boogie711 Jun 11, 2016 4:36 pm

It just seems to me that this is like manufacturing onion flavoured gum. My travel toothpaste is about the size of a man's thumb and weighs about an ounce.

Spending premium dollars to correct that is not anywhere close to my list of travel priorities.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean people will buy it.
