Just strapped on my new-to-me Breitling Windrider Cockpit. It's my replacement watch as my Daily wear Breitling (2005 Windrider Starliner) goes in for its regular tuneup. Virtually NIB old stock from 2006 (original box, papers and watch) for a relative song. I'm happy
It's an interesting thread...and what investment, consumption (and overly conspicuous consumption) means for each individual. I love fine engineering and build quality. Do I buy what some would consider luxury items? Yes. But no one knows how I acquired these items or how long I keep them. I buy high quality items, usually slightly used, and wear them into the ground. I think that makes me smart, not obnoxious (heck, I still can vividly recall buying my jeans at the Farm and Fleet as a kid).
In 2012ish I had a client say 'well, I guess we pay you too much (as he saw me driving up in my new to me 2005 BMW M3)...which was sorta a slap in the face as he drove a brand spanking new BMW and his direct report owned a brand new BMW M5. But he didn't know that I had just retired 15 year old Acura. Nor did he know the darn BMW was 7 years old, but it was a garage queen in its previous life and looked showroom new when I got it.
Beauty and value are in the eye of the beholder...at least that's how I think the world should be.
Stepping off my soapbox now
And thanks to all for sharing their beautiful watches.

I really like my 3rd generation Apple watch when traveling. Especially since I can control the music app on my phone from my watch.
