checked luggage: Rimowa Salsa vs B&R baseline ??
I am torn between rimowa and B&R.
Rimowa salsa (81cm/matte black) vs B&R baseline (large/4 wheels/olive) It's tricky because it's also hardshell vs soft. Which one would you recommend? Do I need to make this big purchase at all for a checked bag? i'll be using this big bag 2-3 times per year thanks! |
Neither. For Checked luggage, I go with cheap and strong... since the airline will destroy it anyway.
For carry-on, fancy is fine. |
I would say soft is better for checking a bag because the Rimowa will get scratched up. Save the Salsa for Carryon. I have a Victorinox suitcase for checking and it works really well and is durable.

If your Briggs & Riley bag is ever broken or damaged, even if it was caused by an airline, we will repair it free of charge. Simple as that! |
Rimowa will also repair it.

B&R lifetime no questions asked warranty, Rimowa 5 yrs...

B & R every time. No comparison in my experience.

love both my b&r bags. (one baseline and one older transcend... both 21-22" expandable)
warranty has been painless when my baseline's expanding mechanism broke. aside from that, they've taken an awful lot of abuse with no problems. |
OP: Your first question should be hard vs. soft. That's your personal preference.
Rimowa and B&R arguably lead the hard and soft categories of wheeled luggage, so you're on the right track there. |
