Tumi Tegra Lite or Alpha?

I am looking at getting one of these two. Anyone have experiences or opinions? I am looking at the international 4 wheel carry on models. They are the same price.

I have the Tegra Lite and returned it. Took it on one trip and was unhappy with how easily it scratched and the quality of the handle. Went back to my Travel Pro Crew 9.

My next bag will be a Briggs and Riley. Hard to justify since I've only have the TP for 6 months.

Have the Tegra largest size and it has been a reliable companion for about a year now.

It's scratched, but the finish and design of the bag make it very hard to discern the scratching unless you go on a deliberate search working the available light at various angles.

Initially I was worried about the handle as Thomps000 indicates the handle is of suspect strength but even with me packing the big back to the hilt has survived round the world travel.

My trips are too long and I need too many full suits any kind of "one bag" travel.

I put a fully loaded Red Oxx airboss on the top and twist the strap around the handle and in narrow sections, and on carpet I drag it on 2 wheels with all the full weight of it plus the 20LB Airboss on top and the handle has put up with it without bending.

It showed up in Montreal with a decent crease in the top shell (either received a steel toed kick,or more likely had a corner land right on it in a load out) which popped up and and the lasting "damage" is almost invisible.

I stress the interior zipper system by putting my business shoes in there which stretches the fabric by a decent amount and its held up well.

It's latest trip was LA- Hong Kong- Tokyo- La for 10 days returning 6/1/13.

Cant speak for the Alpha, but so far the Tegra has held up.
