Funny, the Holland America car towards the front of the train looks familiar.

Where in Colorado is this? It's beautiful.

I was at the back in the open truck, far more fun than inside!

Stunning! I unwittingly drove that route (US 50) in May of 2010 when touring Colorado. I recall seeing the railroad tracks on the opposite side of the river, but I didn't realize they were the ones the Royal Gorge Route uses. That's on my list! Thanks for posting.

(I did spend a little less time enjoying the canyon's scenery than I wanted, since I was trying to get to COS for dinner with Randy Petersen. )

I liked the photos. Great views, those things are surely a nice place to visit. How I wish I can have my travel in those places and took pictures like you have.

Tennessee

I managed to spend a few weekends in Tennessee. Here's the Wyndham Hotel, a former Union Station, in Nashville.

These are a few of my favorites from a recent trip to Las Vegas and Red Rock Canyon.

I love the colors. I was once scheduled on a tour to go there but the operator experienced technical issues and I never made it. Time to live vicariously through your photos!

Thanks. There was some pretty special light that day. Late in the day, setting sun and spotty clouds that left holes for the light to blast through. My son lives about 15 minutes from there so it is one of our regular stops when we visit.

I might as well throw a couple into the mix. Please forgive me as I have only a mere Canon SD850i pocket camera. I'll do my humble best...
