Crappy Views from My Hotel Room
I mostly, unfortunately, don't get to go to exotic locales and receive hotel rooms with marvelous views.
As a business traveller, I get the room I get and it usually isn't something spectacular - either in what the room offers or the view it has. But I take the shot anyway.
In honor of those less than satisfactory hotel room views, here are a few:
Dulles Marriott (Virginia), 2018:
Morrison House (Virginia), 2017:
Fairfield Inn Moscow (Idaho), 2021:
But who's complaining...
Any FT photographers have better/worse ones?
David

Not quite as in your face as the Hampton Inn construction, but here's one from Baltimore where the only view is the parking structure for the property next door.

DoubleTree IAD/Sterling, 2020:
Even though this was the 1st hotel I stayed at after COVID-19 began, it still felt like a jail for some reason...

This is my favorite. I present the view from my room at the Surrey in NYC. How this room (at >$1000/night) is even in the inventory at a 5* hotel on the upper east side is puzzling.

Surrey NYC. - room with glorious view of AC ducts ...
We did, but we were told that would put us in different class of room, adding $600/night. We stayed, but we'll never return to the Surrey. Frankly the Mark just a few feet away is so good that it isn't an issue. I remain shocked that a hotel in this class would consider this dark broom closet a 'room' capable of generating revenue.

I've stayed here, but they gave me a room on a high floor and the view was fine. We had a block of rooms for a group of about thirty people for a small meeting. I don't remember anyone complaining about the hotel or their rooms.

The Dan Tel Aviv. This is not a photoshop. I'm ocean front in Tel Aviv, and this is what I got:
And, for those of you that haven't been to Israel, you DON'T complain and ask for a better room. That... would be a mistake.
