What about the new DxO ONE Camera?
I don't see any discussion here of this new camera platform that is due to ship to pre-purchasers in September.
Here's the web site http://www.dxo.com/us/dxo-one Summary: Same sensor as RX100, attaches to iPhone/iPad for control through screen (although not necessary), fixed 32mm equiv lens. For pre-release buyers, you get "$300" of their photo processing software. I must admit, I just ordered one, lets see how this turns out. |
Kind of the same concept as the Olympus Air A01 but a lot smaller and less capable.

it's not that new..
Sony had their QX10/QX100 line early last year and QX1 (APS-C ILC)/QX30 late last year I own a QX10.... WiFi connection is buggy, so I assume the wired connection on the DxO One will be better it's a fun thing to use, but I prefer my RX100 more |
Why would anyone carry this? It is priced around the same as a full blown RX100, and lacks a viewfinder. Sure, you can use your phone as one, but this really doesn't seem all that intuitive. And what if Apple switches to USB-C for all of their phones?

The iphone only interface is limiting for me. And the price seems a little crazy to me.
|
In my opinion it is good Camera.

No optical zoom, no lens options at all
Integrated battery only good for 200 photos, and then you have to charge it via USB. Charging/download port is not USB3. I think I'd spend the extra $200 for the rx100. |
