If you're also carrying around an A9 with a 200-600 or 100-400, then I presume you're not afraid of heavier lenses. The Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 is a fantastic nearly all-in-one lens. Fast, sharp, a bit on the chunky side, but it's a really good lens. Couple it with something like a 20mm for wide ....'s or the 16-35 GM and it's a two lens solution for most needs. (Though I'm also not a professional so needs vary).

I carry that and the 16-35GM as my travel setup.

I really wanted the 35-150 to work for me as a travel lens but compared to the 28-200 it is just too much to lug around. Played with one for a bit and loved the fast aperture, the bokeh and the range but nope.
If I shot more events/weddings I would buy one in a heartbeat.

IMO the 28-200 is really good for a superzoom. And the GM 70-200MK II with 1.4 tc along for the ride is a good substitute for the 100-400 Sony.

I use Sony A7IV and the Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 and the Tamron 17-28. That fits both telephoto as well as wide-angle senarios. The Tamron 35-150 is heavy, but the image quality is fantastic. I upgraded it from the 24-105 f/4 and the improvement in image quality is huge.

Panasonic FZ1000 that I got 7 years ago. We only get 44 pounds of luggage for our Africa safaris It works great and the back up is my phone. I can do manual and aperture priority plus video.

Ricoh GRlllx and iPhone 11 Pro. The lightest combo I’ve ever used, and I think I’ve gone through them all. I lose at the long end, but gain so much by having to carry less.

Nikon Z6ii + FTZ Adapter + NIKKOR AF-S 24-70 F2.8 and NIKKOR AF-S 17-35 F2.8 is my go to combo. Sometimes I'll throw in my AF-S 200-500mm F5.6 if I want to do some plane spotting or wildlife photography. The Z6ii is reasonably light and my F mount lenses are perfectly fine.

I have a new casual travel no lens changing decent light solution. Absolutely worked a treat for a cruise.

Sony 20-70 F4 on the A1. really capable combo.

I always want to go wider than the 28-200 and this is a good way to do it. On a high mop body between cropping / crop mode I didn’t miss the 200 end. This was on a cruise with the better half and another couple that really don’t care about photography.

For more photo centric trips I’d bring more gear but having the wide to mid tele is really nice.

I've been pretty happy with using my iPhone for travel photography in the past. It's simple and convenient. For more active trips, a Go Pro is the best.

Sony RX100 Mk5a - this is pocketable, very, very capable camera with fast lens (especially the wide end) This comes to every trip.

Nikon D5100 DSLR with a bunch of lenses - this comes to places where I seriously want to photograph or where I know beforehand that the scope of the Sony's lens won't be enough. Fast (f1,8) 35 & 50mm fixed lenses + fast (f2,8) fixed 100mm and wide zoom 11-16mm + a walkaround 16-85mm zoom. This covers most everything.

I use my Q2 - its very easy to use and always takes great images. Also easy to download images onto your phone using the Leica app....

I'm about to change up the kit. Selling the backup camera (A9II) and getting an A7R5. The AI trained AF is ridiculously good and having 61mp gives plenty of latitude for cropping if needed.

I also swapped out my interchangeable lens for a fixed lens Q3, and honestly things have been a lot less constraining than I expected. I think the iPhone + Q3 will be my golden combo going forward.
