12+ hour layover at Incheon airport with large dog
Hello!
I am planning on flying with a large dog (dog will be checked in) from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to Seattle, USA through Incheon Airport in South Korea. Due to the limited number of flights, I and my dog will arrive at 2am at Incheon and our next flight is at 4pm (14hours layover). Since the layover is very long, I would like to take my dog through customs and get him out of the airport. My dog is fully vaccinated and got rabies titer test done. Has anyone tried taking their dog out to South Korea during long layovers? Does anyone know if my dog will be subject to quarantine at Incheon when we arrive at 2am?
Thank you for reading my questions!

There should be no quarantine. If all the paperwork is in order and the rabies titer is more than 0.5IU/ml as evidenced by your certificate, you will clear the QIA inspection at customs and can take him outside.
There will likely be an officer on duty even at 2am, but I can't tell you that from personal experience. Contact the QIA office at Incheon by calling them if you want to be sure: ?????
I have had to wait for an agent to process us, but in general the process is straightforward and pretty quick. Disclaimer: I haven't been through there since the new terminal opened.

Hi Dgdg,
Can you please share how your experience was at Incheon? I will be in the same situation with about 5-6 hours layover in Incheon with two dogs. They will be flying as a checked luggage but in the cargo hold.
Is Rabies titter test absolutely necessary?
Thanks a lot!
