Has anyone used pet express crates?
Hello,
i am planning on flying with my dog in cargo in June. My dog is only 50 lbs but really lanky so 40 inches crate barely is enough to fit him in. The next option in petmate is giant but i am afraid that might be too big to fly Lufthansa as excessive baggage. I found this crate on pet express which is 46 inches and will give him room without going over airline max size. Its bb75.
Has any one used their crates before and hows the quality? Second is can Lufthansa accept a crate slightly bigger than mentioned on their website?

I`ve only ever used Petmate (Vari Kennel Ultra) crates, so no experience with PetExpress ones. They seem to be fulfilling all requirements from what I could see from the pictures on their website. And seeing they're sold at a pretty steep price by a company specializing on pet shipping, I can only assume that they are engineered to comply with IATA regulations.
LH will accept "Giant" (700, 48") size crates on all flights. There is tons of anecdotal evidence including very recent reports that this will not be a problem. Check the "Lufthansa Pet Create Requirements" thread right below.
As long as you are not using an extension and avoid connections on LH Cityline (who fly RJs with too-small cargo door openings for crates with extensions) if you do, you'll be fine.
