Airline won't take your pets? Charter the whole jet c. 1976

Made a response in TA re: a question about an airline not accepting pets in 2020, remembering a news clip from the late '70s'

Lady Beaverbrook, the widow of Canadian press baron Max Aitken (a.k.a. Lord Beaverbrook, publisher of the Daily Express), was prevented from boarding an Air Canada (same airline as in the TA forum question) flight with her sister to Canada as she had her two dogs with her. So what does she do? Charter the DC-8S to fly the 4 of them, only. Reportedly costed 10,000 (presumably GBP as the photo and headline article is from the Daily Mail) at the time for the 6 hr flight from LHR to probably YHZ or YUL which is said to be the equivalent of ~GBP 64,000.today.

Wonder how much a charter of an equivalent-sized jet (say a 757 or 767-200), would run these days?
