Here near Philly we are right in the path of Hurricane Sandy and yesterday packed everybody's bags "just in case" - the cats' tote and carriers are lined up next to the front door with our gear.

When you pack for pets, remember:
  1. Carrier or leash & muzzle
  2. "Waste management system"
  3. Food, including can opener if needed
  4. Water and bowl
  5. Medication if needed
  6. A toy or familiar blanket
Pets should also have ID with contact info. A collar with tags at a minimum, and a microchip registered to you and your vet is even better.

Stay safe!

If you have a carrier definitely bring it. Most dogs that travel frequently are so used to their carrier that if you leave the door open they go inside to sleep or just hang out when in a strange place. Whenever i used to travel with Angel she would snuggle up inside of her Sherpa bag and feel safe. To coax her out from the bag I would have to give her a treat. I often called her Sherpa bag her "Fortress of Solitude". :)
