FlyBe with small pets?

Hi, wondering if anyone know if I can bring a hamster or guinea pig, hand luggage or checked in, on a FlyBe/Loganair flight? It is domestic flight from ABZ to LSI, timetabled for 1h but usually takes only 40m.

The reason I am asking is there are no pet shops here in Shetland so am planning to pick up one or two when I am next in Aberdeen.

I am thinking of putting it in a strong cardboard box and putting it in my hand luggage. Since it is only for an hour on a Saab 340, it will come to no harm even in the check in luggage. Also I will use a strong box so it will not chew its way out in just 1 hour.

However I wonder what will the person watching the x-ray think/say to see a rodent in my bag?

Check their website. I'd be surprised if you could. Those low-cost airlines typically don't allow for it. They don't do this because they want to keep the cost down. I know Ryanair. EasyJet, and Wizzair do not allow pets.

I wouldn't send any live animal through the x-ray machine. It could kill it, or cause genetic damage.
