It was fun, but it's just too much to compete with those that have more time and inclination than I do. I'm n ot making spreadsheets and whatnot for that, and only had a handful of routes last time I played, though I was turning a nice profit when the game ended.

Even public worlds are very uncompetitive now. Just a small bit of effort, and you can be in the top ranks.

I'm currently playing in a private world, and it's boring. Just two other players active right now, and they haven't logged in for three weeks now. My only goal now is to attain one trillion in airline value.

If anyone wants to test the waters again, feel free to join Private World 428. It's 1970, and there's 38 years left. I'll even offer you super cheap leases on Caravelle 10B's to get you started. Just a warning: I'm based at the 16 largest airports in the world. I'm looking for someone to be based at my competitors' other bases: FRA, MAD, AMS, MSP, SFO, NRT, HKG, and SIN.

The current public world offerings are pretty slim and uninteresting, but a new one should be up within the next week or two.

I jumped into public 1372 because it is a small world with less than 1 month left real-time. Going to mess around and see if the game will hold my interest again.

I'm still playing, playing a big private world with a lot of time on it. It's just into the 50s now.

I got bored and lost interest. Seems like once you're well established, all you do is log in and lower fares for a couple of hours.

That's basically the airline biz in the real world! It's easy to work in the pricing function of a major legacy carrier - all you do is log in a few times a day, match a few LCC fare cuts, then go back to something more interesting like surfing the web or checking flights in your internal CRS to find a good NRSA shenanigans destination for the weekend!

Post My Fantasy Virgin America

I don't know if this is in the right place, but here goes.

I dont know how many of you have heard of http://www.airlinemogul.com/
This is a site where you can manage your own airline(s).
The following is the current snapshot of my airline.

I have a few running currently in various worlds right now. The one that seems to be doing the most successful for me right now is :

http://www.airlinemogul.com/airlinem...20878&wid=1526

My airline name is: Virgin America (lol)

Well heres some rundown of my hubs:

Oakland-- -63 flights a day-- with 67.38% market share
Chicago O'Hare ---366 flights a day---with 83.38% market share
Colorado Springs --34 flights a day---with 71.15% market share
Madison,WI (new hub)-- 13 flights a day--with 95.38% market share
Denver----133 flights a day-with 73.01% market share
Kangerlussuaq, Greenland---32 flights a day--with a 100% market share
London Heathrow--316 flights a day---with a 68.90% market share
Providence, RI(New hub)--34 flights a day--with a 76.69% market share
Duluth, Minn.--62 flights a day--with a 97.20% market share

Of these hubs, Duluth and Kangerlussuaq are the more interesting of my hubs, why?

1) Kangerlussuaq...(known in danish as :Sndre Strmfjord) think of nearby Keflavik. I've turned this into something similar. Connecting flights from all points in North America to all points in Europe. I even have a flight from Kangerlussuaq to Beijing with a B767-200ER.

2) Duluth... I have turned into quite an up and coming hub. Currently offering International Flights to Mexico City, Beijing, Tokyo, several Canadian Cities, Multiple European cities and of course multiple domestic flights.

Heres a snapshot of my airline financials:

Okay so its a 5+ year bump, but is any one playing this game still? There's a LONG world that is going on, and a few annoying players. Just wondering.

Wow. I didn't realize that anyone played that still. Just so you know, the developer of the game has since graduated from college, then landed a job at United and is now at Delta as part of the aircraft scheduling group.

After Airline Mogul, I played Airline Empires for a while, but that also got pretty stale. Now I don't really have time for any of those types of games.
