Lets hope not.

This story is actually a fairly hot topic here in South America, where everyone thinks its completely ridiculous. These kind of stories make us North Americans look like a bunch of George Bush clones.

I did find the article to be quite funny.

Sadly, I can agree with both sides of it.....

I thought Burqas are used in Afghanistan or in Saudi Arabia. It is news to me that women are now enforced to wear that in the United States as well.

Of course there is a limit to what is acceptable, e.g. coming barefoot or just in a bikini. I hope that we don't get such ideas much more often! Tolerance is something that seems to get much rarer in the last few years.

For what it's worth, I suspect most people in North America think it's ridiculous too.

Several existing discussions of this incident, with most U.S. posters agreeing that SouthWest over-reacted, such as this thread with 130+ posts in the SouthWest forum and this one right here in Newsstand.

Assuming they believe the young lady's version of the story. From reviewing the discussion in the SW forum, I do believe there are two sides to these stories, the top side and the bottom side.

There are a bunch of other threads on this topic- mods, merger time perhaps?

I saw it on TV. She wasn't dressed that bad. Sounds like someone was jealous because she was HOT!

I am no prude, but I saw her on The Today Show and I am pretty sure with the skirt she had on, if she uncrossed her legs while sitting at any time, you would have easily scene her Va-J-J.

I think she likes/wanted the attention. Crazy thing was she went back to So. Cal with the same outfit a few days later. Even got a compliment from one of the F/A, wasn't asked to change again.

Crazy world we live in!
