Rome backs Air France-KLM's talks to buy AZ
ROME, Dec 28 (Reuters) - The Italian government on Friday approved exclusive talks between Alitalia (AZPIa.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) and Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research), paving the way for the sale of the troubled national carrier to the world's largest airline by sales.

Italy could own 5% of AF after deal-union
ROME, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Italy could end up owning 5 percent of Air France-KLM if Alitalia's chairman convinces his French counterpart to include the loss-making airline's services and maintenance unit in its takeover, a labour union said.
