DHS remains committed to contested passenger-screening program
GovExec.com Article
"The Homeland Security Department remains committed to developing a controversial passenger screening program despite recent disclosures and public outcry that federal agencies obtained passenger records from airlines without transparency. The department plans to issue a directive this summer that will require airlines to turn over traveler information that the Transportation Security Administration will use to test the Computer Assisted Passenger Pre-screening System II program, spokesman Dennis Murphy said Monday." Cooperation at gunpoint. How typical of these thugs. I look forward to the current administration, particularly those in charge of DHS, to be thrown out on their asses in November. |
Of course, I recall all but one Democrat in Congress voting for the Pariot Act that brought us all this baloney, so I don't see a Kerry Admin suddenly returning us to 9/10/01 protocols and practices.
Not to mention the head of DOT is a Democrat and a Clinton-appointee, to boot, as I recall. DHS, like any government bureacracy, will fight to maintain it's existence at all costs. I tend to believe we're stuck with it, which is why I just take it like a good Soviet Sheep should. :) |
