Airlines slash flights...

(CNN) -- The outbreak of war in Iraq on Thursday has sparked flight cancellations by airlines around the world.

Following is a summary of service changes announced:

AIR FRANCE - The carrier said it had cancelled all flights between Paris and Tel Aviv until Monday. On Wednesday it cut a late evening flight from Paris to Amman, Jordan.

AMERICAN AIRLINES - Has made no changes to its flight schedule at this time. However, a spokesman said, some changes to future international schedules are likely.

ASIANA AIRLINES - South Korea's Asiana Airlines Inc said it would change flights beginning March 30 to cut costs, including domestic flights and service between Inchon, South Korea and Guam.

ATA - Will be watching the developments and change schedules/routes as need be.

AUSTRIAN AIRLINES - Austrian Airlines cancelled its once-daily flight between Vienna and Tel Aviv for Thursday because of the war and said it was monitoring other service to the Middle East. It flies from Vienna to Damascus, Cairo, Amman, Dubai and Tehran.

BRITISH AIRWAYS - The airline suspended flights to and from Kuwait and Tel Aviv until further notice.

CATHAY PACIFIC - The Hong Kong-based carrier said its twice-weekly Riyadh flight was stopping over in Dubai instead of Bahrain. It will maintain its 20 flights a week to Gulf destinations Bahrain, Riyadh and Dubai.

CONTINENTAL - The fifth-biggest U.S. carrier has suspended some transatlantic and transpacific flights. It cut one of two daily round-trip flights from its Newark hub to each of London's Gatwick and Paris's Charles de Gaulle airports.

Continental will fly smaller planes between Newark and both Amsterdam and Rome under changes planned for April 6 to May 1. It will also cut services between Newark and Tokyo's Narita Airport to four times a week from once a day through April 24.

CYPRUS AIRWAYS - Flights have been suspended until Sunday to Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Bahrain.

DELTA AIR LINES - The airline has made no changes. Customers are still allowed to rebook travel for free, a spokesperson added.

DEUTSCHE LUFTHANSA - The carrier cancelled flights for two days to Tel Aviv, Amman and Kuwait.

EMIRATES - Dubai's airline cancelled March 20 flights to Kuwait and said it would monitor conditions before making possible further cuts.

GULF AIR - The regional carrier owned by the governments of Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Oman cancelled March 20 flights to Kuwait and said it would monitor conditions before making possible further cuts.

HEMUS AIR - Bulgaria's private Hemus Air said it had suspended flights to and from Dubai until further notice.

IBERIA - Spain's Iberia has announced it will cut its flights by four percent in March and three percent in April due to weaker demand on European routes.

IRAN AIR - Iran's civil aviation organisation said the carrier had suspended all flights to Kuwait and Abadan in southwestern Iran. Flights to the United Arab Emirates had also been cut back.

JAT - Jugoslovenski Aerotransport said it would suspend flights to Damascus, Beirut, Tel Aviv and Dubai from March 20, though flights to Cairo and Larnaca, Cyprus were unchanged.

KLM ROYAL DUTCH AIRLINES - KLM said it had cancelled Amsterdam flights to and from Kuwait and Amman, Jordan until further notice.

KOREAN AIR - The airline said it would suspend flights to Dubai and Cairo and reduce flights to U.S. cities including New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Honolulu through May.

Earlier this month, Korean Air shut its route to Saipan due to low demand.

KUWAIT AIRWAYS - The airline said flights to Beirut, Damascus and Amman, Jordan would be suspended from March 23.

MALEV - Hungary's national airline said it had cancelled eight flights this week serving Tel Aviv, Cairo, Beirut and Larnaca, Cyprus. It has not decided on possible changes for next week.

NORTHWEST AIRLINES - No changes, and no speculation as to what the airline will do.

UNITED AIRLINES - The major U.S. carrier has not reduced schedules at all yet. But, added a spokesperson, out of its 1,700 daily flights a day, "we will eventually reduce 10 to12 percent if we feel we need to. ... As of now we are taking it minute by minute."

SINGAPORE AIRLINES - The airline "will implement a series of service reductions from late March in response to softening demand in the past few weeks attributed to concern about the situation in the Middle East," according to its Web site. A total of 65 services per week will be suspended, including all services to Las Vegas and Chicago will be suspended from 7 April to 31 May 2003.

TURKISH AIRLINES - Turkish Airlines said it was suspending its twice-weekly service to Kuwait.

AA says 6% reduction in international, no change in domestic yet (April domestic was already cut by 7%)
