Airways Magazine: Boeing 777 Surpasses The 2,000 Order Milestone
The Boeing 777 Surpasses The 2,000 Order Milestone, by Airways Magazine (LINK). By the end of 2018, Boeing had taken orders for 2,013 777s.
These include all 777 versions. The first 777X test article finished construction November 2018 and should fly soon.
The Boeing 777X engine, the General Electric GE9X, has a greater diameter than the 707 fuselage tube dimension (used for the 707 / 720, 727, 737, 757 series).

I was going to say it doesn't seem long since the 1,000th delivery, but looking it up it's almost 7 years already.

Do the later/newer 777s have the same "comfort" factor as the A380 and A350? I think these two operate at a "lower" pressure than the original 777s, so the air onboard isn't so dry and you come off a longhaul not feeling as exhausted. I do remember seeing a documentary on the early 777s and the crew commented that people seemed be less flatulent on these planes than the 747s for example because of the improved pressure, but the impression I got was the A350 and A380 were better again.

The current “latest” version, the -300 series, still has a max cabin equipment elevation of 8,000 feet MSL and the typically dry cabin air. But it appears the 777X, in development, has the chance to rectify that, given its a competitor to the Airbus A350 XWB.
