CBC: Canada Hotels Awash In Antibiotic-Resistant 'Superbug' Germs

'Superbug' Found In Tested Hotel Rooms

You already know how unsanitary hotel rooms tend to be, starting with comforters and ending with TV remotes. You already know that your hotel maid had but 30 minutes to clean your room; and that the hotel chain that employs her prioritizes economy, not cleanliness. You already know that big, fancy hotels are just as unsanitary (if not more so) than budget motels.

You might not already know that the germs they found include the deadly "Superbug" varieties (C. difficile and MRSA). And if superbug germs are prevalent in hotel rooms in Canada, then they are equally prevalent in the U.S., and everywhere else.

You know, not all germs are bad germs. A perfectly healthy person has an excellent barrier against invasive critters, it's called their immune system.
