Amazing. Thanks for posting it here. I would not have seen otherwise. Have you any idea of time or (long shot) runway? I may have to head out there to see it.

Any idea where this acft is coming from? Maybe it can be tracked to give some sort of idea on arrival time. Picking up two 190,000lb concrete pumping trucks with a 70ft boom length. Interesting that they will first use it to pump water for cooling and then concrete for encapsulation of the core.

Wow! What a cool opportunity... I would LOVE to see that.

ETA: This might also be relevant for DL flyers (ATL being a DL hub). Just a thought....

I think it was a AN-124 that I saw at BDL a few years ago. That motha' was freakin' huge. I had time (picking someone up) so I watched it take off. It barely seemed to get off the ground vs. the end of the runway and real noisy.

Wow. It takes an Antonov 225 to haul the pride of Putzmeister. Perfect.

30 feet longer and wider than an A380 - it's almost worth a side trip to see it. I saw the smaller 124 several years ago and itwas impressively huge.

Do post if anyone finds the route of flight. I know it takes several short hops to get anywhere.

Can it even make it across the Pacific or will it need to take the normal Canada/Green/Iceland/etc path to Europe and hop over to Japan?

I'm guessing it will cross the Pacific, not the Atlantic. There are various points on the way where it could refuel, but I think it can make it from Alaska to Japan. The ranges is between 2500 mi (max payload) to 9500 mi (with full fuel). ANC-NRT is ~3500 mi, so it should be fine for this flight.

I've seen and have been inside both of them. They are both behemoths!

I have absolutely no idea what time is it. I'll try to find out any more info. I will be there in ATL during 2.5 hours layover. I am flying PHX-ATL-BOS for redeye flight and back to ATL then ongoing to PHX. I will try to check it out. If my flight is running on-time.

Oh! I didn't check it out yet. I will find out for you. If I can see the flight number is on flightaware.com and I will try to figure it out for which time when AN-225 is landed in ATL.
