The U.S. State Department announced Wednesday a new policy that no longer requires passport applicants seeking a gender change to have undergone sexual reassignment surgery.
The policy, which goes into effect Thursday, allows a gender change with a certification from an attending physician.

I'm looking at my passport right now. It says "sex/sexe/sexo" (Engligh/French/Spanish) not "gender" on the right side of the data page. 
This is a US passport. Do foreign passports not show sex on the passport data page?
My driver's license shows weight and height.... wish they would eliminate the "weight" from futher driver's licenses.
(at least until I get a chance to lose 10 pounds)
