Smile Bride marries arriving groom at Texas airport

FTers perhaps?

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A woman in a wedding gown surprised her fiance by greeting him at a Texas airport along with a justice of the peace.

Robyn Moore and William Acosta exchanged vows Monday at Corpus Christi International Airport after he got off a plane arriving from Toledo, Ohio.

Edited to add: a longer piece here, complete with video. All that was lacking was having the TSA form an honor guard.

Moore says she and Acosta "spent half our relationship in airports."

Acosta, ...says he was speechless and thrilled by the wedding Moore planned.

If not they should be!

Sounds like she didn't give him a chance to develop cold feet!

Hmm, indeed! I always wonder how strong a marriage will be when one of the parties doesn't have a choice.

At the turn of the last century, thousands of "picture brides" who had been ordered from the "picture bride book" that a marriage broker had as he circulated among the sugar plantations arrived in Hawai`i to marry Issei (first generation Japanese immigrants) and were married en masse dockside at various Hawai`i ports.

Some of those marriages didn't last long, but many, remarkably, lasted for six and even eight decades.

Interesting, I had no idea. I would say, however, that (a) times do change, and (b) I bet you both parties knew they were getting married when they did!

wedding arrangement

That method with the roles reversed would be an awesome way to marry, if I as a male had any choice in wedding arranagements .
