Phone holder for exercise: arm or waist band?
I’m looking for a way to hold my iPhone 8 (standard, not plus) while exercising. I use Bluetooth earbuds and generally listen to a playlist and don’t need to mess with my phone, but I do need to see the screen to keep an eye on messages. There’s tons of arm band options on Amazon but my experience with these is that they’re either a tourniquet which rubs or so loose they end up at my wrist. I’m considering a waistband option but I’d still have to have a view/use of the screen.
Anyone have an arm band that works well, or a waistband they can recommend?

I know it is not answering your question per se, but I always try to get running/exercise shorts that have a zip pocket in. Probably not what you were after if you want to be able to check for messages easily, but I do not like either a waist or arm band having tried both. The armband drove me absolutely nuts and strangely enough I was clearing out some drawers the other day and found it, it is now in the charity shop donation bin!
