X-Ray body scanners
 

Does anyone else have a concern on the X-rays or whatever rays they use on the body scanners (full body and hand held)? I travel quite a bit and need to pass through these often, I am concerned they are not good for my health but if I opt for the TSA body search, they usually look at me weird and take extra long at the search and I also dont like them touching my body....

Nope.

The Travel Safety and Security is filled with information on the various scanners and potential health risks. In general, you might want to look for information from RadioGirl, who has posted much information on the issue.

There are also lots of stories about opt outs in that forum. Many people on the bulletin board - me included - do not go through the scanners. Some agents seem to make you wait longer than necessary and treat it as a hassle, but so it goes. Anyway, lots on security checkpoints in that forum that you'll likely find of interest.
