Best time of year for USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand?

Hi, we would like to take our 5 and 6 year old on a long trip around the above but am not sure when would be good to be in these places.

We'd love some snow but not prolonged cold(!) and I think summer in Australia is out for us. Ideally we would visit these countries in this order (probably Florida, up the west coast, Canada Toronto to Vancouver, hawii, new Zealand and Perth in Australia).

What do you think?

Welcome to flyertalk Trary!

How many months are you planning for such a trip?

Hmm considering the change in seasons, I suppose you'd probably want to look at the spring or fall, such as March/April or October-ish. At those times of year it's not quite as blazing hot anymore in Florida and hasn't yet gotten truly cold down under, either. And Toronto and Vancouver will be pleasant.

With that time frame, I'd try to focus the Florida and/or southern hemisphere portions of the trip into those months. If you were going to spend quite a long time doing this, then perhaps something like:

mid-March: Florida
late March/early April: West Coast road trip
early April: Toronto
mid- to late April: make your way to Vancouver (unclear whether you planned to fly that or make a road trip out of it)
early May: Hawaii
mid-May: down under

It seems like that's your best option to have mostly spring-like weather for MOST of the trip with the exceptions of Hawaii (warmer) and Toronto (quite a bit cooler)

Given your order of travel, you could also consider detaching Vancouver from Toronto unless you were going to drive that and attach it instead as the endpoint of your west coast road trip, so fly the portion from Toronto to the lower starting point of the west coast trip.

Perth has great weather all year around, June-September is somewhat rainy and cool. Best time (aside from summer if you don't want to come then) would have to be March/April and October/November as the weather is still warm and you can do heaps outside.

Summer here is amazing though, you can find a spot on the beach all to yourself. There are so many beaches up our coast. I took this pic mid January at the beach 15 minutes from our house :)
