compact strollers to take onboard (not gate check)

I know of the babyzen yoyo which seems great (but expensive)

Looking for other brands, 15 months age

I would just buy a cheap one. There's never any guarantee it won't be taken away from you at the gate and checked. I can't remember the last time I saw a stroller brought onboard a plane.

Very few airline allow a stroller to be stored in the cabin; there's a list at the link below (may be outdated):

No need for an expensive stroller if you can carry it onboard; the airlines mentioned as accepting strollers appear to take anything which can fit in an overhead. I don't have personal experience though and I have never seen a stroller brought on board an airplane.

What the OP is talking about are one of the few new strollers that actually do fold small enough to be stored in an overhead bin. When folded they meet the size restrictions for most airlines to be brought onboard as a carryon item.

I have seen a couple so far. One was being offered on Zulily for a time.

They are somewhat pricey, but they seem like they might be worth it if you travel a lot.

We use an Uppababy G-Lite and have gate-checked it oodles of times without issue. Our BabyJogger City Mini has also been gate-checked a lot. It does great, also. But I can definitely see the attraction of not having to mess with the gate check process. If our second (and last) kid wasn't already 2 years old I might consider getting one. They always come out with better stuff right after your kids are too old for you to get to use it.

This one isn't too badly priced:

Currently $119.99

I'm only 5'10" but have a real issue with the compactable strollers. Most are still too short for me to use comfortably. I just put mine in a padded bag and gate check. I don't know how tall you are but you should try walking with one for several aisles in a store before buying an expensive stroller.

I have the City Mini too and love it. It gets gate checked every time
