Which Stroller Should I Use?
 

So the four of us were supposed to fly SEA-TPA in 6 days, and my husband has had to bail on us because of work. I'm going to be on my own, traveling with my 4-year-old and our 8-week-old. This will be the 8-week-old's first flight, and my first time traveling alone with two kids. I'm not at all worried about the time spent on the plane, but everything before and after :(

I'm trying to figure out which stroller I should take. We have a Sit-N-Stand, which carries the infant bucket in the front and allows 4yo to sit or stand in the back part if she gets tired. We also have a (single) Chicco Cortina travel system, which I would mainly use for carrying the infant bucket, but which could carry my 4yo (without the bucket, of course) in a pinch while I carried the baby in an Ergo.

Other details:
-- We'll probably be doing a lot of walking in TPA
-- I will be taking car seats for both kids, as we'll have to take a taxi from the airport to our hotel
-- Baby has her own seat on the outbound flight, so we'll need the infant bucket on the plane (I don't want to check either car seat as luggage anyway)
-- We have a connection in ORD on the outbound (AA) and in IAH on the return (UA)

The part that seals my suggestion is the fact that you say you'll be doing a lot of walking in TPA. In that case, it's likely that BOTH kids may want the stroller at the same tie because your older child is tired and your younger one needs to sleep, for example.

I agree, bring the sit & stand, but still bring the Ergo! Your post implies that baby is a lap baby on the way back, so you'll definitely want the Ergo for getting on/off the plane.

Yes, definitely planning on bringing the Ergo regardless, but it would probably just be for getting on and off the plane and other emergencies. For whatever reason, baby doesn't seem to like it very much. And yes, she is a lap baby for the return -- I figured it would be fine since we're flying in F. (Outbound is economy)

If your baby doesn't seem to like being in the Ergo, that's even more reason to make sure you have stroller space for both kids simultaneously. Maybe baby will grow to love the Ergo, but you don't want to be caught red-handed

So we made our trip yesterday, and everything went well. TinyDancer was a champ walking through SeaTac and I ended up using the extra seat in the Sit-n-Stand to carry her car seat, the diaper bag, and the bottle cooler! I think this stroller is as useful for its ability to haul stuff as its ability to haul kids!! TiniestDancer slept in her infant bucket for most of the two flights, as I expected.
