Airports where travelers w/ children in strollers speed through security.

I can't figure out what rhyme or reason. In Tampa, we are treated like celebrities when we had our baby in a stroller. They opened up the ropes and escorted us to the front of the line. In Denver, they couldn't care less. In Atlanta, they will let you cut in line if you can get the attention of an airport employee.

What are your experiences?

Traveling strictly on the west coast my experience has been that when traveling with my daughter in a stroller we were never waved through. The only time we move to the head of the line is when we are with my husband who is in a wheelchair and that has only been at LAX because we had to use the elevator instead of the stairs/escalator like everyone else.

We were pretty loaded down, including a stroller with all sorts of bags hanging off it, in LAX. Got escorted to the elevator and then up to the much shorter lines on the 2nd floor.

No escalator. No visible physical handicaps other than the fact that we had a small child and a stroller. This was during Thanksgiving travel season too.

never heard of being escorted to the front of the line because of a stroller. wheelchair or other disability, yes.
my experiences have been both on the west (LGA, EWR, JFK, MIA, IAD, BWI) and west coast (SFO, LAX) as well as in between - ORD and DEN. never once had this. on a Lufthansa stopover in FRA we were once escorted and allowed to "cut" the line, but I think it also had to do with a tight connection.
having a kid doesn't = special treatment.
most of the airports I mentioned above have premier/first class lines, and we always use those if available, but I cant say it makes much of a difference either way.
to the contrary, often in DEN, we are directed away from the "black" and "blue" lines (not that the color coding makes much of a difference) and told we must use the "green" line for first time travelers needing extra help or not familiar with TSA procedures, even when flying F.

I've had Similar Experiences.

-Edmonton and Vancouver were okay

-London Heathrow was fantastic. When we landed we got bumped into the front of the passport check line/Customs. There were hundreds in line and we were in and out in 15 minutes. We also experienced this when we took the Eurostar FastTrain to Paris. On our way back to Edmonton, the Heathrow airport personal would open up ropes and bypass thru priority security, no problemo.

I guess it helps our little one at the time was a cute and he smiled at all the ladies ;)

I've never gotten bumped to the front of the line because I had baby/stroller.

Just recently at BWI - no special treatment or dedicate lane. At DEN, they did have a "family" lane and an extra person to help load and unload stuff off the belt which was nice.

Las Vegas does that too. Upstairs at security stay all the way to the left. Stroller... you get your own line with no rush.

Ususally during the busy travel times IND will have a seperate lines just for families....makes the business travelers very happy :D

The one challenge of family lines during Thanksgiving is that they'll be shorter then the non-Elite lines, yet longer then the Elite lines. Just about got into a brawl with the gatekeeper about trying to have a Plat shuffled to the family line.
