Motion Passed: FlyerTalk Cares
 

On 14 August 2007, the TalkBoard passed 7-1-1 the following:

Moved by Jenbel, seconded by Spiff:

that TB increases it's involvement in FT Cares by
a) assuming responsibility for determining whether charities suggested by FTers are suitable and appropriate
i) following the request for approval, a week shall be taken to research the charity by one or two (or more, if volunteers) TB members. If no-one volunteers, two researchers shall be appointed by the TB President. Any HOM assistance in this would be welcomed. The FT member shall be kept informed of the progress of their request, by either the Talkboard liasion, or in their absence one of those researching the charity.
b) identifying other appropriate charities for dispersion of general funds, either in times of crisis or on an annual basis. This shall be done by identifying a set of criteria for determining suitable charities, the criteria to be approved in a later motion
c) Approval of any charities shall be done on a simple majority of people voting rule, with the voting period being a week
d) once a charity has been approved, it shall remain approved, unless removed by review
e) all charities approved shall be reviewed on an annual basis by TB
