Very handy thanks. I'm renting through live car hire and it look like I am going to get a mustang. Can you drive where you want in the continental USA? I am from the UK renting from LA and I want to drive to New York and back. Would this be allowed?

Yes, as long as you don't take the car into Mexico as per Thrifty. You might want to also ask to see if they can tell you the mileage when the car needs service, since it seems you might be driving 5,000 to 6,000 miles, just to avoid any complications with the vehicle.

Also with the merger with Hertz (Hertz bought Dollar/Thrifty) you may have more options with a Chevrolet Camaro convertible, Chrysler 200 convertible, Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder , or the Volkswagen EOS. A lot of outlets are sharing the fleet so now there are more options than they used to have.

Cheers
