Mustang "or Similar"
Hello,
I have rented a convertible Mustang over the Christmas holidays down in sunny Texas. Thrifty shows a Mustang but it also says "or similar". It appears that when I show up I can just leave if they dont have a Mustang but what is the "or similar"?
I am renting at SAT.

You can leave, but believe me they will have a Mustang they are pretty proactive in honoring convertible reservations, since convertibles are usually pricier. But a similar could mean that they have a Camaro convertible... Did you want a Mustang no matter what? I have only seen mustangs at different Thrifty, so your chance of getting one is pretty good.

I'd be happy with a Camaro but if it was a Chrysler... not so much.

I had a similar booking in Vegas over thanksgiving (for amazing rate of $27 per day!) and ALL they had was mustangs.... Had ou choice of about 7 different ones

I have a similar question regarding a Thrifty "Mustang Convertible or similar" at Miami airport in January 2013 - I'm getting a good price coming up through the UK Thrifty website, but does anyone have any information about what Thrifty's MIA convertible fleet is like - i.e. am I likely to get a Mustang, or is there a real danger of getting the "or similar" option (the dreaded Sebring!!)
For reference, Hertz will allow me to specify a Mustang through their fun collection, but the cost is over 3 x as much (£800 vs £260 for 10 days).
Any advice gratefully received!
