We haven't heard any more, but the charge has not reappeared on our VISA, so I'm mildly hopeful that Thrifty gave it up. Thanks for asking.

We just got a letter from VISA, and they said the dispute was settled in our favor.

Yay! But we won't rent from Thrifty again!

I hope you mean in South Africa. Thrifty in the U.S. is a completely separate operation--the only thing they share with Thrifty South Africa is the name.

Glad to hear that. I assumed there was a connection, since we booked the van on Thrifty's US website.
