Hero From Outer Space Hijacks Bus

Police say a Suphan Buri man who claimed to be a "superhero" from a destroyed planet hijacked a passenger bus late on Saturday night and drove it out of the city in the hope he could return to space, leaving a trail of damage along the way.

They said Phummarin Phaensombun's "mission to leave planet Earth" was put to an end after he rammed the bus into an 18-wheel trailer truck and was arrested in Ayutthaya's Wang Noi district by police who set up a blockade on Phahon Yothin Road.

I may tip a little better now ! LINK: http://www.dailynews.co.th/crime/217278 Can somebody translate ? Google is worthless w/Thai. Update: the man worked in Thailand for Caterpillar, was killed around Sukhumvit 68, refused to pay after meter jumped 30B, & allegedly threw coffee in the driver's face. The driver has been apprehended. I don't know if it's legit, but somebody calling herself Tracy Shaffer says she's the victim's sister & was with him. She responded here: http://www.richardbarrow.com/2013/07...er-in-bangkok/

Of course not. It's a terribly idiotic way to die, but we don't really know what occurred once the argument went outside. People die all the time all over the world by getting involved in stupid fights over stupid things, often while being stupid drunk. This appears to have been one of those times.

Advisories from a few Embassies:

The Thai Government has announced the activation of the Internal Security Act (ISA) in three of Bangkok’s fifty districts until 10 August 2013. The districts are Phra Nakhon, Dusit and Pomprab Sattruphai where there is likely to be a larger concentration of security personnel. You should follow the instructions of local authorities in these areas.

Army Notifies Bangkok Of Impending Tank Maneuver

BANGKOK: -- The Royal Thai Army has confirmed it was about to roll tanks into streets of Bangkok, but don′t panic, it would be merely part of routine work, according to the statement released by the army.

Apparently conscious of the rumour about possible military coup circulating around the country, the army took pain to announce in advance the plans of various armoured divisions to move their armaments for field work practice outside of Bangkok throughout the month.

On 6 August, the 1st Division King′s Guard will move their armaments from 4th Cavalry Division in Dusit district to Phahonyothin Train Station, via Kiak Kai intersection route, the statement reads. The equipment will then be transported to Kanchanaburi Train Station.

"The troop will come back to Bangkok with their armaments on 17 August via the same route," it says.

Later, the army announced, the 2nd Chivalry Division King′s Guard will move their armaments back from the training ground in Lopburi Province to Phahonyothin Train Station on 9 August, before transporting the equipment to the barracks on Kiak Kai Road and Sanam Pao area

Is this because of the HiSos complaining about people liking the Facebook page that talks about the things that the Prince gets up to? The use of "defamation" in the article makes me think so.

That's always been a risky endeavor. The article seemed to focus more on political activities from my read.

In a country with a paltry amount of critical thinking the thought police are trying to stifle what little exists.
