Unless you get a huge difference in rates from a third party site, it is advisable to book directly with the chain's website. Hotel.com also adds ++ when finalizing the booking transaction.
yes the 10% are off from the net but the booking is same as via Marriott website - it's possible that the voucher doesn't work at the end with Marriott Hotels (even this is a serviced appartment useing Marriott Brand only)

Is this a good deal for State Tower?

http://www.groupon.com/ch/getaways/deals/ga-tower-club

•For $1,497, five nights in a two-bedroom Tower Club Signature suite for four guests ($2,995.47 value).

Thinking about staying there w/ a few friends. Is that a good price? Let me know if you can recommend a comparable hotel/suite.

I think this deal is also available with booking flash deals:

http://www.booking.com/searchresults...ency=&country=

you need to register for these deals first, non-cancelable, usually only for next coming weeks, max. 3 months ahead^

Why don't you rent an apt and save yourself about 1/2 ? I've rented some saweeet high floor apts off of Sukhumvit for less than $50/bdrm per night. The realtors I used were on CL Thailand but it looks like most of them have switched over to TA. LINK: http://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationR...n_Rentals.html

True, the private rentals can be cheap but if you pay a bit more (e.g. 80-100 USD) you could get 4* Hotel service AND 80sqm Apartment (incl. breakfast buffet, daily cleaning, etc.)

The Siam Kempinski is on this week on Jetsetter for $140. It's one of the newest and coolest hotels in town. Not as good a deal as the Metropolitan for $75 a couple months ago, I booked a 3 nighter in Dec and it would've cost me an extra $100/nite anywhere else. I haven't stayed there yet, but I love trying new hotels, and people on TA love it. PM me if you need a Jetsetter membership invite. wj

Air Asia continues with its frequent sales, but note that the fees to check luggage, and hot seats have gone up considerably. Also, you cannot easily check the final price of your flight without logging in and having to double-reverse-click the extras that they add on (seat and insurance) to get to the final price.

I just flew domestic TG. The W fare was several hundred baht more expensive if I purchased on the website. The lowest fare WAS available through an agent, TG phone reservations, and by purchasing at the airport ticket office.

Bangkok Airways still currently has the cheapest airfares between Bangkok and Chiang Mai and between Bangkok and Phuket.

I've found that in order to find the cheapest TG fares you cannot search through from the main page, but need to access their 'specials' page and search from there.

TG agents/phone res agents add an additional 50B +/- to the ticket cost.

good point, BF isnot included right?

However the final rate (incl. 10% servicecharge) would still cost me almost double compared to the booked 59sqm-suite with breakfast in Natural Ville.

Of course difficult to compare.....

Looks like the same deal is still available on US travelzoo site (at $100 a night)
Anyone have any experience with this property? It looks like a great deal!
