advice on weather?
i am planning a trip to Bali, Phuket, and Siem Reap next summer and was curious if anyone knew the best time to hit SE Asia. i am leaning on Early June '08, but i can change it if there is a problem with rain...
thanks in advance for any help... |
In Thailand (BKK), the dry season is roughly November - March. By May, the hotels in island areas are already lowering their rates for "rainy season" - by July, it is getting pretty wet.

I was in Bangkok and Phuket this year in May and last year in early June. The weather was very HOT and HUMID. We didn't see much rain on either trip - maybe a wet afternoon here and there - mostly sun. I would recommend Oct - Jan for more temperate weather...

Late Dec. to early Jan. is best for less rain, lower humidity, lower temp. You will also have the most tourists around.:p

krabi vs. phiphi vs. kao lak vs. samui
My husband and I will be in Thailand for most of August. We are hoping to hit the beaches for 5-7 days. Samui seems beautiful but the prices are quite high. Are the andaman towns/areas really horrendous this time of year?
