Bumrungrad is probably the oldest and best known in Bangkok. But a couple of others have received positive reviews.

Bumrungrad is very expensive but they are quick and not as crowded. Used them after my motorcycle accident in China. About USD$250 for x-rays of my knee and shoulder plus exam by a nice ortho specialist. When I had a stroke I started at their ER, they, after I balked at their request for a THB1,000,000 deposit, sent me over to Chula where the King goes. Chula ended up charging only aboutTHB100,000 for the week stay in the Stroke ICU. Government hospitals are cheaper, but can be as good.

You're probably not interested in anything but Bangkok hospitals, but a private countryside place I recommend is St. Mary's in Korat, where I had my cataract surgeries. Easy, cheap, and not as crowded.

All choices have the latest, up-to-date equipment, speak good English and are well qualified doctors.

Bamrungrad is the most expensive with quite a difference to the others
Bangkok International and Samitivej follow price wise with overall same quality
BNH, Bangkok Christian, Phyathai, St. Louis offer good quality at lower prices

not seldom the most experienced and best doctors (with top notch equipment) can be found at the large public hospitals (like Chula, Siriraj, Chonburi etc.), but it's a bit inconvenient for a foreigner (language, waiting etc.) to navigate its way through those hospitals

I never had a problem with the doctors or nurses at Chula, but if you're waiting on a byopis result, Bumrungrad might just be quicker or St Louis or BMS.

Not that I am an expert on hospitals (thankfully!), but I would echo Bumrungrad, BNH or Bangkok Hospital. BNH is the only one I have personal experience with for health checkups and other minor things though, and I am always amazed at how well things work there. Incredibly professional, doctors and nurses speak perfect English, and it feels like more of an upscale hotel rather than a hospital.

Is it as simple as just walking in or should I be emailing them? I had a scroll around Bunrungrad’s website on mobile and couldn’t find much spelled out very clearly beyond the check up packages

that's from where they make money...not with the check up package itself, but from all shortcomings and according therapies and remedies that they recommend!

decide well, what you really need and what is reasonable...

I would def reach out to them before hand. While you could probably walk in, will likely be a better experience if they have some notice, schedule appointments at appropriate times, etc.

You might reach out to the women's center at Bumrungrad.

Hope all goes well.

If you are coming before 8/31 there is a discount coupon online at Bumrungrad but make an appointment::

I strongly recomment Bumrungrad as well, I used to go there when stationed in Singapore for 4 years. All positive. But then it was 10years ago :)

My wife used Medpark for a medical and then follow up this year regarding what you mention. Myself and other family members have also used this hospital for a check up this year. Overall we have all been very impressed with the service; my only 'complaint' was that the recommendations were to some extent general (one way to get further business) but after commenting these were updated to be much more specific.

On Medpark and other hospital websites you can check which doctors are available at what dates/times for consultation on specific issues. If you do need further treatment, which I sincerely hope not then you can ask the doctor which government hospital he/she works at and consider going to this hospital and paying more for the 'fast track', which will likely be much cheaper than going to the well known private hospitals.

Most/all hospitals offer discounts which are essentially a marketing strategy to attract the unitiated.

I have done a full medical check up including all blood works, urine and ECHO and Bone density and treadmill at Paulo in Kasert. Yes it is a Thai hospital but the staff do speak English. It is not Bumrungrad nor BKK or Sumithavej. But all it cost me was 10900 baht.

I've been visiting Bumrungrad yearly for my health checkups, blood tests for allergies and dental visits. No brainer for me. Extremely professional. Also went there a few times to x-ray my knee post op which I had done in Dublin. Physiotherapist there is excellent.
