I am fully vaccinated and boosted, tested positive for Covid in late December, had mild symptoms for a couple of days, and have a certificate from my doctor saying that I had fully recovered by late January. I am scheduled to arrive in Bangkok February 26 and have applied for Test and Go. The Thailand Pass FAQs explain that if the result of my pre-flight PCR test is positive I can still enter Thailand if I have proof that I contracted Covid and a certificate of recovery. But I can find no such assurance with respect to the PCR tests I will have to take on Day 1 and Day 5 after my arrival in Thailand. On the one hand, the only logical reason to let me into the country in the first place -- that a PCR test can detect vestiges of the virus left over from an old infection -- would seem to apply just as strongly to the post-arrival tests. On the other hand, the rules are the rules, and I cannot find anything that says what will happen if I test positive after arrival. If the answer is something relatively mild --- for instance, a medical examination the next day, after which I can continue my visit so long as the doctor finds I do not have any symptoms of Covid -- then I don't mind. But if I would have to go into an extended quarantine without consideration of whether my result was a false positive, then I would rather not take the chance. If anyone has any information or insights on this question, and especially if anyone has had personal experience with this situation, I would be most grateful.
there are reports that people, who tested positive and came up with a recovery certificate (not older than 3 months), did not have to quarantine
but there is no general written rule published...

There are also reports of people being made to go to hospital/hospitel/quarantine which may or may not be covered by their insurance. Some recent discussion here, from ~ post #1274.

Thailand opening up in November [merged thread]

not sure if this belongs on another thread but I'm spending just 1 night at a BKK hotel arriving at 12n and leaving the next morning at 0600. Can anyone give me an idea on how long I will wait to get my results from my BKK arrival Covid test? Many thanks.

there are hotels, which are able to offer a covid test with a fast return within 2 hours....against additional surcharge.
common are 8-12 hours...
you need to check with your hotel...

Pre-departure PCR test requirement removed from 1 April: https://www.thaienquirer.com/38733/c...-new-tourists/

Also, more blue and yellow zones.
