Which airlines are using the Boeing 737 Max that is being grounded worldwide .

I was thinking of booking Flight to BKK in the next week or so and am wondering if there will be aircraft for the connecting flights from China , Taiwan etc

Any thoughts

Thailand bans Boeing 737 MAX flights for 7 days

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand said on Wednesday it is suspending the use of the Boeing Co's 737 MAX 9 due to safety concerns.

The regulator said it will temporarily suspend the use of Thai Lion Air's Boeing 737 MAX 9s for seven days, starting on Thursday and will continue to investigate safety measures.

Thai Lion Air's three MAX 9 jets will be affected.

Previously (as in yesterday) CAAT had said they would follow the FAA (U.S.A.) lead.

CAAT ready to ban B-737 Max if advised to by FAA

I was thinking of how many connecting flights from China based airlines would be canceled,

But no one knows how long the 737 Max will be grounded ,

I would take a wild guess and say not many or none. Large airlines can rotate planes around. Thai Lion will probably take a hit since 10% of their "small" fleet is that specific airliner.

China Southern's fleet is about 4% 737 Max 8
Air China is less than 4%

Quantity-wise Southwest Airlines has the most amount of 737 MAX 8. It's still less than 5% of their fleet.

737 MAX 8 would be the least of my worries if traveling to SE Asia. I would be more concerned about avoiding the insane ATM fees in Thailand.
And don't take an Orient Thai charter flight.

ATM fees? haha, the max won't kill you. The air will.

A heart attack when seeing the ATM fee could kill.

You just need to Max out every ATM withdrawal , then it's not so bad because the better exchange rate makes up for it ,

But Yes if you take out smaller amounts the fee will shock you ,
But same as the USA , it's a $4-$5 fee at the local ATM if i take out $20 or $1000.

How's your flight planning going? Any Chinese airlines cancelling flights? EVA doesn't even own any 737s, so Taiwan should be good.

Going with Asiana , the fly Airbus , but I really am not worried about Boeing .....
They let you book your seat and not "buy" your seat assignment , so I have window seats on all flights , easier to sleep,...,..
