Six Thai airports declared no smoking zones from 3 February 2019
Bangkok, 7 February, 2019 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is advising all tourists and travellers who are planning air travel via the kingdom’s six major airports that all smoking rooms inside the terminals have been closed from 3 February, 2019. The six airports are Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai, all operated and managed by the Airports of Thailand (AOT). https://www.tatnews.org/2019/02/six-...february-2019/ |
Any idea if your still allowed to smoke in the Miricle lounges. The lounge by gate G2 is included ,( which I can understand as being no smoking now ) but the one on concourse D , actually has an outside garden attached . Does anybody know if that's closed as well. I did e-mail Miricle group , but have had no reply

you can generally smoke outside all buildings anyway
I am under the impression that the newest smoking laws, effective 1 Feb. 2019, ban smoking within 5 meters outside all public buildings. This includes condos, rental buildings, pubs, hotels, religious buildings, karaoke establishments, restaurants, laundries, salons, cinemas, parking areas, spas, areas for Thai massage, clinics, hospitals, schools, swimming pools, fitness parks, clinics and ‘other places’. The regulations also specify precisely where internal smoking areas in buildings may be located. I think smoke alarms will be set off, assuming they're functional if one smokes in the loo. I assume they'll set up smoking areas somewhere, outside, and away from the exits? In addition to cigarettes and a lighter maybe carry an extra 5,000 baht? Phuket airport offers reward for catching wayward smokers PHUKET: Any person who catches someone smoking outside a designated smoking area at Phuket International Airport now stands to receive B1,500 reward for reporting the transgression. https://www.thephuketnews.com/phuket...bRTmsUi1fRC.97 |
