BKK airport customs stamp for VAT

Hi,

I'm planning to fly out of Suvranabumi airport around noon.

How long would it take to obtain the customs stamp on the VAT refund forms? .

I'm referring to the customs office before passport control, not the refund counters airside.

Also, where exactly is the customs office located at the airport?.

Thanks

I am already familiar with this webpage.

My question was: how long can I expect the process to take, if I'm departing around noon?.

There is no info on that webpage regarding my question.

Well, you asked two questions and I tried to answer the second one.

As to the first, it all depends, but I'd allocate 15 minutes and be pleased when it takes less. It is low/dead season and noon is a slow time, but then the tax folks might be lightly staffed or on a lunch break?

Today shortly before 1PM the lines at immi were long, almost all the way back to the glass. While that doesn't speak to VAT lines, you might want to allocate additional time to be on the safe side.

How meticulous are the customs officer? do they really request to see every single item on VAT form so I would need to fully open the shopping bags?.

Thanks

I have done this few times. My purchases have been from few hundred to few thousand usd items. I haven't waited in the line more than 10 minutes. Maybe i have been lucky but i i would avoid the stress and be early. They haven't asked me to open my bags every time. When you arrive the airport. Tell your driver to take the last door. Enter the terminal and you should see the VAT counter.
