Yes, I know. However, when I went to book three nights - via the website - the estimated overall cost of the stay was three nights' worth of charges.

Strange, I just rechecked and got the net average price with the discount included. It does require pre-payment, no cancellation. If you still encounter problems, pm me for backdoor access ;)

For those of you who like to watch movies in the theater, here are a few combinable SF Cinema City Thailand MasterCard promos:

1) buy two tickets with any MasterCard credit card for the Mastercard theater (#15) at Central World and get a 180 baht voucher for a future (or current) show. You can see showtimes at http://booking.sfcinemacity.com/. Look for a movie in Theater #15, which currently is mostly Dawn of the Apes but is usually the newest movie. http://www.sfcinemacity.com/index.ph...y-2-Get-1-Free

2) buy two tickets with any Mastercard credit card and get a free small popcorn and drink. There's a similar promo on the weekend, it seems, but you have to book online and I'm not sure how that works. http://www.sfcinemacity.com/index.ph...Promotion-2014 This promo seems to work for all movies at all SF Cinema City locations.

They can be combined. At least, we did. You can further combine them with the Wednesday promo: tickets for a normal seat at Central World are only 120 Baht (except perhaps very new releases), which is a good promo all in itself (and seems to apply to almost all theater brands in Thailand, though the price might range from 80-120 baht). So, on Wednesday, 240 baht could get you, essentially, 3 movie tickets, popcorn, and soda.

Note: one of these promos mentions that there are only 1000 vouchers per month. Still working as of July 14th.

Nice, thanks. ^

(Sorry you lost the Intercontinental Title to Bad News Barrett, btw.)

Easier yet is buying tickets on Wed at Major Cineplexes - tickets are discounted significantly on this day. Around 100B IIRC

I have stayed in the past and that qualified me a corporate rate that is even lower than the 2+1 special. One footnote to the 2+1 is the additional perks during the May 1 to Sept 30, 2014 special:

1. 2 pcs complimentary laundry;
2. Late check-out until 3 p.m.;
3. Unlimited non-alcoholic beverage from minibar;
4. 20% discount on food and beverage.

40% off sale.

50% if you have status, and you also get an early booking window.

I saw the sale yesterday but don't have status. I'm unfamiliar if these are exceptionally good rates or not. What is recommended for first-time visitor to Bangkok in Nov who will be totally unfamiliar with layout? I have SPG and Hilton points I could spend instead. We're very interested in viewing Loi Kratong celebrations but it's not necessary that we have a hotel right on the river - just ease of access to viewing. The one that looked most interesting is Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. Is $144/night (169 ai) a good rate?

For the 50% all you need to do is join Le Club. Tried to book, but for Thailand the window is 01/04/15 - 30/09/15. Not of any use to me that far out.

Thanks for viewing the small print wackyjacky. I thought the entirety of the region was available for dates on the ad. This sale is useless to me as well.

But for future reference, is Le Club membership all I need? Or is it the Advantage Plus for which you pay a fee and must have mailing address in Asia to purchase?

Don't know, it kinda states both on the sale page, but unless they changed things since their last sale all you need to do is join ( which is possible since there was no AP before). I didn't get to see any sale prices so I'm not sure.

Lion Air 515B DMK-HKT

Like the article states - a lot cheaper than the taxi to your hotel ! LINK: http://phuketwan.com/tourism/lion-ai...bangkok-20918/ Lion Air to Plunge Fares to 515 Baht Return Between Phuket and Bangkok
By Chutima Sidasathian
Wednesday, September 3, 2014
PHUKET: Lion Air, a relative newcomer to the skies over Thailand, will set the pace with ultra-low fares when it begins flying between Phuket and Don Muang in Bangkok later this month.

From September 15, return flights will be 515 baht, plus extras.

Sceptics on Phuket have noted that it's not possible to get from one end of Phuket to the other in a new meter taxi for 515 baht.

Lion's prices are likely to make it difficult for officials to explain the new taxi fares, which are supposed to be cheaper than the old taxi fares.

Lion, with its home in Indonesia, will begin with one flight a day each way between Phuket and Bangkok and aims to increase that as fast as possible to five flights a day.

The Bangkok-Phuket route is highly competitive with AirAsia and Nok among Lion's competitors at the low-cost end of the market.

Although Lion will only be using an ATR 72-600 (capacity 72) and a Boeing 737 900-ER (215 seats) to start with, the aim is to have 50 aircraft linking Thailand to Hong Kong, China and Singapore within five years.

Lion is Indonesia's largest privately run airline, capturing the largest share of the domestic market.
