Apart from the BEM map link posted already, I do note that google maps now has all new extensions on their Bangkok map. The Urbanrail.net map may also be of some use to you?

Oh thanks. I used both Google Map and an app with the official map. It all works out well and riding metro and BTS was smooth.

3) MRT Orange Line: 49.05%
4) MRT Pink line: 46.13% and
5) MRT Yellow line: 45.88%
6) SRT Dark Red Line: 100% S&E installation 43%
7) Tinky toy 2.2km Gold Line: approx 43% est

It should be noted that there have been some delays with Pink and Yellow line construction as some of the beams for the monorail (which are made to fit for specific sections) were for sections where the pillars have not been built yet and vice versa......lack of coordination to resolve!

1) BTS Sukhumvit line northern extension phase 2 opening (Dark Green on MRT maps and Light Green on BTS maps)
Most of you know by now that the BTS northern ext phase 2 to Kasetsart Uni (N13) opened on 4 December for full operations. The remainder of this extension to Khu Khot is not due to open until the end of 2020.

2) MRT Blue Line extension phase 2 - trail operations for 6 hours a day (10am - 4pm)
The MRT opened the fist 4 stations from Tao Poon to Sirindhorn in early Dec and then the remaining 4 stations to Tha Phra last week for free, trail ops. Only 6 hours a day. This runs along the inner ring rd (Charan Sanitwong rd) on the east side of the river.

This extension is not due to officially open for full operations until 30 March 2020.

I note that google maps now has both extensions on their Bangkok map.

The next 4 openings will be;
1) 30 March 2020: MRT Blue Line extension,
2) Late 2020 :BTS Sukhumvit line north extension phase 3 - N13 to N24 Khu Khot,
3) Late 2020/early 2021: BMA Gold line
4) Early 2021: SRT Dark and Light Red lines - finally opening after 2016 due date (though the light red line was open for 14 months back in 2013!)

Planned Tenders in 2020;
1) April 2020 MRT Purple line,
2) Mid 2020: MRT Orange line western extension,
3) Mid 2020 MRT Blue line western extension,
4) Late 2020 MRT Brown line (being built integrated with the N2 Expressway)

At this stage, (1) & (4) are most definite with (2) & (3) still having the possibility of further delays.
A much belated update............

A) Progress of civil works for lines currently under construction (as of 31 August)

1) MRT Orange Line: 67.81%
2) MRT Pink line: 63.36%
3) MRT Yellow line: 64.30%
4) SRT Dark Red Line: 100% S&E installation 73%
5) BMA 2.2km Gold Line:94% - was due to commence operations on 1 October. However, now delayed to the end of October or more likely early December as further testing is required

Test runs started a couple of weeks ago as you can view in this BMA provided video;

B) The next 2 openings will be;

1) Dec 2020 : Final section of BTS Sukhumvit line north extension to N24 Khu Khot, (Note: The next 4 stations might open earlier than this in late October)
2) Dec 2020: BMA Gold line
3) March 2021: BTS Silom line S4 station, Suksa Witthaya (now 50% complete)
3) Oct 2021: SRT Dark and Light Red lines - after a 2016 due date (though the light red line was open for 14 months back in 2013!) Don't be surprised if this is delayed until early 2022.

C) Planned Tenders in 2020 or early 2021;

1) Late 2020 MRT Purple line - might be out as soon as next month
2) Currently under tender: MRT Orange line western extension - tenders due by 26 Sept but BTSC is planning to launch a legal challenge which may delay the process
3) MRT Blue line western extension - delayed
4) Late 2020 MRT Brown line (being built integrated with the N2 Expressway) - design will be completed by October and MRTA is still stating that this will be tendered by the end of the year but that seems hopeful?
5) First half of 2021 SRT Dark Red line northern ext to Thammasat Uni - has been delayed as now a PPP tender

D) BSR MRT Pink line and MRT Yellow line monorail orders

In 2018, the BSR ordered 42 Bombardier Innovia Monorail 300 sets (4 cars) for the MRT Pink Line and 30 sets (4 cars) of the same model for the MRT Yellow line.
The first sets for both lines have been assembled and were shipped on 4 Sept to Thailand. They should arrive in the next week. All other sets will be progressively delivered during 2021 with final deliveries expected by 1st quarter of 2022.
Here are a couple of pics of the rolling stock;

Thanks for the update.

I live along the Red Line as it goes north and see they are testing the trains daily. It’s unfortunate that it will take another year before it opens.

Great news that both the Gold line and Last several stops on the north end of the BTS.

It's grear to have someone keeping track of developments so closely - but can someone remind me what the numbers are very precise percentages of ? I'm guessing track length, though the installation statistic has me foxed.

The % relates to civil works progress ie. the actual construction of viaducts, tunnels, stations etc. S&E means signaling and electrical. The SRT Dark Red line civil works were completed some 18 months ago. The period since then has been fitting out the station, laying of tracks and installation of the catenary system (overhead electrical)..

For some lines such as the MRT Orange line - which has 4 separate civil work contracts for different sections of the line - there are progress update %s for each contract. Indeed, there are even specific progress updates for each station. However, this level of detail is not generally of interest to most.

Is the Gold Line the one that connects Prajadhipok MRT to Krung Thonburi BTS passing by ICONSIAM?

Gold Line article has a map with reference points. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand...-says-governor

Looks interesting. https://www.railwaygazette.com/vehic.../56782.article

Due to open in December, currently I think -seems to slip every month. Privately financed.

Driving down Srinakarin Road last week I just realized that the Yellow Line will be a mono-rail - I do not follow developments closely - as will the Pink Line. Seeing the two narrow guides between pylons. And it is routed quite high (and low), to get over/under exisiting roads so should be a thrilling ride.

In the local news yesterday...

Hard-up BTS seeks help

The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS) has urged the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to pay for the operation of the Green Line extension and warned there might be disruption to the service if it doesn't.

^These two lines have been planned as monorails for the last 10 years. It is good to see that you are finally getting out to see some of what is being built.

Upcoming opening dates are as follows;

1) 4 Dec: BTS Sukhumvit line north ext final section from N17 to N24 (PM official opening ceremony 16 Dec). However, do note that this opening date is subject to final system tests.

2) 16 Dec: BMA Gold Line - ditto on final tests as originally they wanted to open 1 Oct then end of Oct then end of Dec.....

3) March 2021 SRT Dark Red and Light Red lines: limited free trial services for 3 months. Full opening Nov 2021.

The last section of the BTS north ext was pushed back a week ago to 16 Dec as that the PM will open both this ext and the BMA Gold line on the same day
