Best Issan and Local Thai Restaurants in Bangkok
Hey Folks

I'm doing a MR to Thailand next week and would love some locals recommendations for good Thai and Issan food in Bangkok.

I prefer super hot food and I am not afraid of street food!

Thanks so much!

I usually hit Ta Ling Pling but I am tired of it and want to try some new places.

There may be some tips in this thread:

I usually recommend food courts for lunch, and markets, and nearby restaurants, for dinner.

The best larb gai (chopped chicken salad) I ever ate was served in the café of a small, budget class hotel in Bangkok's Surawongse area. The dish was very spicy yet very addictive at the same time. I still salivate whenever I think about it. :p

Here are the contact details.
Bavana Executive Hotel
25 Thaniya Soi 2
Bangrak 10500
As I mentioned, the café located in the reception area serves meals for both hotel and off-the-street patrons. They may even be a separate company from the hotel itself. It is not much to look at, the laminated menus show pictures of the different dishes on offer, and it is all very relaxed.

If you are in the area, try the larb gai; you'll love it.

Late Night Options?
Thanks so much for the wonderful information.

What about late night options? I land at 11 so will be in town at about 12:30 or 1 AM. Don't want to eat hotel food.

Thanks again!

Just curious, are there some good promos from DEN to BKK for a good MR?
