Some issue
 

i am going to Thailand and i wanted to but i LED tv and blue ray DVD player and a Sony vio laptop .
So i can purchase all these item from their.
1.it will cover warranty in India.
2.will i have to pay any custom duty.

its very urgent pls reply me.

1. Many electrical items purchased in Thailand have only warranty that is effective in Thailand, but some offer 'internatnal warranty' - but maybe also price is higher. I would expect that warranty for Thai TV and blue ray player would not be honoured in India. Please check.

2. You can either buy duty free on departure ( but still expensive) or buy downtown. You can refund the tax at the airport, but it is a bit of a hassle procedure. Note that on arrival in India you may have to pay some tax -I have no idea about that.

I have been at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) many, many times and there are always hundreds of visitors - many look to me to be from India - each with at least one LED TV, some have more than one! I see them in the check-in area and at the VAT refund area. I see them getting out of taxis curb-side with TVs, so I assume they buy them in town, and then get the VAT refund ( 7 % ). I think I have seen like 10,000 LED TVs at the airport!

I am not familiar with the AC power in India, you'll have to verify that, a notebook PC should have a 50/60 -120-240 brick. My Samsung LED TV purchased here in Thailand, says 50/60 Hz - 115-240 V on the back. My Samsung DVD player, purchased here, also says it supports 50/60 Hz, 110-240 V.

I doubt the warranty will be any good in India.

I do not know what, if any, import duty you will have to pay when arriving in India?
